Student Edge participated in the Pune Book Festival 2024. We held fun storytelling sessions & workshops for kids. Parents & teachers joined too. We are humbled by the warm response we received. It inspires us to keep encouraging reading and learning in children.

We were so excited to be back in Pune for the book fair this year! This big event, organized by the National Book Trust (NBT), is one of our favorites. After seeing so many parents and kids love StudentEdge last year, we couldn’t wait to return. The fair happened at Fergusson College grounds from December 14th to December 22nd, and it was amazing.

Meeting Our Readers Again

This year, we got to see how much our readers care about StudentEdge, India’s first curriculum-aligned kids’ newspaper. Many parents came straight to our stall to renew their subscriptions. It was awesome to hear how StudentEdge has helped their kids.

One parent, Mr. Abhimanyu, told us how his daughter Mrunmayee loves reading the science page of our children’s newspaper so much that she now wants to become a scientist! Another visitor, Mr. Amar, came with his son Archit and told us how they read the news for kids together every week. He really liked our new Reading Passport program, calling it a fun and creative idea for young readers.

Teachers and Schools Loved It Too

The book fair also gave us a chance to meet teachers and schools. Many schools brought their students to explore the fair, and several teachers showed interest in StudentEdge. Miss Pratiksha Anand, a teacher who picked up a sample copy earlier, came back to share how much she loved it. She called it “a great resource for students—fun, informative, and distraction-free.” She even asked about getting subscriptions for her entire school!

A Celebration of Books and Learning

The Pune Book Festival 2024, organized by the National Book Trust (NBT), was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. With over 600 stalls, there were books in many Indian languages for people of all ages and interests. It was truly a book lover’s paradise.

A highlight of the event was the Pune Literature Festival, held from December 20 to December 22. This part of the fair had over 25 sessions featuring more than 60 authors, poets, journalists, and thinkers. These sessions, held at the Fergusson College amphitheater, covered all kinds of cool topics and gave the audience lots to think about.

Fun and Creativity for Kids

The festival wasn’t just about books; it was also about having fun and learning in new ways. Every day, there were free workshops for kids on storytelling, painting, dancing, music, and even Vedic mathematics. These activities helped kids get creative and try new things.

Another awesome part of the fair was the Pune Children’s Film Festival, held from December 14 to 18. Kids could watch free screenings of movies just for them, making the event even more special.

One of the most memorable moments was when the festival set a Guinness World Record. They created an artwork of the Constitution of India using books! It was 9.94 meters long and showed how creative and inspiring the festival could be.

Our Mission: Getting Kids to Love Reading

The energy and excitement at the fair reminded us why we do what we do. Seeing so many kids, parents, and teachers enjoy StudentEdge motivates us to keep going. We’re proud to be a leading kids’ newspaper, delivering news for kids that’s both fun and educational.

We’re excited about the future and can’t wait to meet more readers, inspire young minds, and spread the love of reading. Events like the Pune Book Festival show us how powerful words can be, and we’re ready to keep making a difference!
